Drawing Materials - Almost everything to get started - Part 02 - Drawing Paper

I think the role is as important as drawing pencils. In the years that I was drawing I've tried a lot of different types and brands. I have two favorites. One is the Gran Colombia 300 Series Bristol Board.

It is free acid, 100 pounds, and has a very smooth surface. I use this paper when I make graphics, rather the drawings are finished. Ready my paper of choice for graphics is white water Fabriano traditional ARTISTICO Block. This paper is acid-free, 140 pounds, with a smooth side and one and one rougher side. It has a very firm surface perfect for office. Buy Fabriano paper, in the "mass". Block is binding on all 4 sides so that the paper does not distort when applied to watercolor tape. It is easy to
separate each part of the group. Fabriano paper is almost three times the price of Bristol, but better quality paper. Bristol is almost too soft at times. Almost no teeth to hold the graphite so it's a pain to build tones. Fabriano is sufficient to sustain graphite, but still soft teeth. Both work great for the use.
